Thank a line worker today: National Lineman Appreciation Day is Tuesday, April 18

Release Date:  04-18-2017

Bangor & Presque Isle Maine – As the winter storm season comes to an end and springtime construction projects begin, Emera Maine asks the community to consider joining us in recognizing our dedicated team of line workers.

Every day, our line technicians are ready to help keep families in northern and eastern Maine safe, warm and connected to the world. Throughout our state’s most rural and remote areas and during its most extreme weather conditions, their work ensures our neighbors can open for business and enjoy recreation time when the day’s work is done.

“As our customers’ reliance on electricity increases, we also rely on our line workers out in the field to keep the public safe and maintain reliable electricity service throughout our territory,” said Rob Belliveau, Emera Maine Vice President of Engineering and Operations. “In addition, our line workers spend hours in the classroom and our training facilities to stay proficient and to make sure they have the skills to approach each job safely and effectively. We appreciate their dedication and hard work.”

On April 10, 2013, the U.S. Senate passed S.Res. 95, a resolution for the designation of April 18 as National Lineman Appreciation Day.

Emera Maine is proud to safely deliver electricity to our community every day, and for that, we #thankalineman.
