Release Date: 09-08-2017Bangor, Maine — With Hurricane Irma heading for Florida, Emera Maine hopes to be able to make a contribution toward safely returning the region to normalcy. On Sunday, Emera Maine will send a team to assist Tampa Electric, a fellow Emera Inc. affiliate, with storm restoration efforts. Twelve line workers, a line supervisor and a mechanic will depart in eight trucks after a safety briefing at 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Emera Maine’s Hampden Operations Center. Crews plan to drive to Florida over the course of three days, providing it remains safe to travel. Another supervisor has already arrived in Florida. The entire Emera Maine team is keeping the people in the storm’s path in our thoughts.
