Winter storm expected March 7-9

Release Date:  03-06-2018

As a winter storm expected to bring snow and strong wind gusts heads toward Maine, Emera Maine is making preparations.

“Although the forecast is still evolving, we are preparing for potential impacts to the electrical system from wet, heavy snow weighing down tree limbs, as well as gusting winds,” said Storm Manager Brad Flannery. “We’re fully staffed throughout our service territory and will continue to closely monitor the forecast.”

Motorists are asked to plan appropriate time for travel as necessary and to be mindful of utility crews working on roadways to ensure everyone’s safety.

Emera Maine is committed to delivering safe, reliable electric service. As the state's second-largest electric utility, the company delivers electricity to more than 159,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers across 10,400 square miles in five counties in eastern and northern Maine.
