Release Date: 09-20-2018Bangor and Presque Isle, Maine — With a low-pressure system expected to bring windy conditions to the area on Friday, Sept. 21, Emera Maine is making preparations for a safe and timely response.“This is the first significant wind event of the storm season and we expect it may have some impact on the electrical system,” said Nate Cota, Emera Maine storm manager.Emera Maine’s storm team will be meeting regularly to review updated forecasts and make sure resources are deployed as needed. Additional line crews will be on standby throughout Emera Maine’s service territory on Friday and Saturday, as well as support for dispatching and customer service operations.As always, customers are reminded to be mindful of the following safety hazards:• Stay away from any downed lines. Report downed lines to local authorities and Emera Maine.
